An adverse event is defined in W. Va. Code R §64-110-9 as an injury resulting from the use of medical cannabis dispensed at a dispensary. An injury includes physical harm, mental harm, or loss of function. Adverse event reporting is critical in monitoring the safety of medical cannabis products and can help the OMC and medical cannabis industry permittees to identify and respond to possible health and safety issues with medical cannabis and/or medical cannabis products. The OMC is committed to ensuring the health and safety of medical cannabis patients participating in the medical cannabis program and monitoring adverse events will help the OMC uphold their commitment.
